This is an annual event at the hall and has been very popular over the years. Come on out and raise a stein and have a good time.
The Sackville Community Band was originally a project of the Sackville Community Development Association (SCDA) who saw a need for Sackville to have its own marching band to lead off the annual Patriot Days Parade every July 1st. In September of 2002 our band was born and we began meeting in various community halls. We now have a concert band of 55 members; a youth band of 35 members, a marching band of 30 members and a Dixieland/Oktoberfest combo. The Sackville Community Band is comprised 100% of talented volunteers of varying ages and musical experiences. We are professional musicians, retired musicians, local music teachers, students and community members all brought together by our love for making music.
The newest members to join the team around the board table are Don Allsion, a native son recently returned and Dr. David Howe, long standing band member.
Beside his youthful vigor done bring a wealthy background in performing art and cultural entrepreneurship to the board.
Kids of all ages and of all generations should enjoy great moments in the ‘Auditorium’, aka ‘The Band Hall’. First grade graduation, first live theatre, first dance, first political speeches, the Grand Ole Opry tour, Sea Cadets; all these precious memories occurred in this building. May my input through the Board of Directors help this institution thrive and serve for many years to come.

Dr Howe has served his community well for many years as general practitioner in Parrsboro. During those years he committed to also play the first flute with the Citizens’ Band and bari sax with the Elastic Big Band. He now takes on the role of director representing the band on the Board of Directors.
